From Inefficiency to Leadership: SeaWex SmartPort® at the ACNB




The Balearic nautical sector is at a decisive turning point. To address the impending challenges of marina management, on November 28th, the historic Cala Gamba Yacht Club hosted the II Training Sessions of the Association of Nautical Clubs of the Balearic Islands (ACNB). It was within this top-tier technical framework that SeaWex had the privilege to chart the roadmap toward the port of tomorrow.

During his keynote, Antonio Martín Posadillo sharply dissected the operational reality of many modern marinas: they continue to operate blind. The reliance on manual processes, physical meter readings, and the lack of real-time awareness regarding which moorings are occupied and which are free, creates a constant drain on profitability and resources that clubs can no longer afford.

Technology to Eradicate Waste

The presentation avoided mere theory to focus entirely on applied, immediate solutions. We demonstrated how the LoRaWAN wireless network and the broader SeaWex SmartPort® ecosystem allow for the complete digitization of facilities without requiring colossal civil works. Attendees were able to witness firsthand the paradigm of efficiency achieved by implementing two foundational pillars:

  • SeaWex SmartBerth®: A revolution in space optimization. Thanks to its occupancy sensors, the harbor master's office knows the status of every slip in real-time, right from their screen. This maximizes the intake of transients and optimizes overnight stays, transforming empty moorings into direct revenue.
  • SeaWex SmartMeters®: The end of unpaid bills and invisible losses. Smart pedestals allow marinas to measure, control, and automatically bill water and electricity consumption directly from the user's smartphone, blocking unpaid supplies and sending instant alerts regarding undetected water leaks.

The New Marina Era

The message consolidated during the session was crystal clear: leadership is no longer measured by size, but by intelligence. Through the central brain of SeaWex Manager®, marina directors across the Balearics can now anticipate problems, stop energy waste, and measurably increase infrastructure profitability.
